The difference between writing an e-mail to Asians (as opposed to actual people) is that, no matter what their age and sex, nineteen year old guy or thirty-two year old woman, they'll write like this:

Hi. (^-^*)

How are you? I'm doing fine. (≧∇≦)O

I was happy to hear from you. ヘ(^_^ヘ)(ノ^_^)ノ

Write back soon! (^ _ ^)/

Or I will be very angry! (,,#゚Д゚):∴;'・,;`:

Okay, so maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but I want to put "^^" after all my sentences. Just to show that I'm smiling. And reading big blocks of text online without a smiley face now is weird for me. How do I know what the speaker is feeling? If they don't illustrate their facial expressions at every paragraph?
