Just got home from visiting my dad in the hospital. He's having trouble with his kidney again-- apparently it's functioning okay, but he's losing a lot of sodium and protein. They're fixing the sodium, but they're monitoring him to see how his protein retention goes. If he keeps losing protein, then they'll have to remove the kidney.

I talked to an RA on the phone yesterday and he said this was an effect of chronic rejection. His body keeps rejecting his kidney and it's suffered some damage.

He was in the hospital since Tuesday, and hopefully he'll be out tomorrow.

Today wasn't a bad day, as days go, but it didn't feel like Christmas at all.
